Spinach Bouquet
"The green leafy vegetables provide their supply of magnesium if they are eaten raw or cooked in a small amount of water that is not discarded. Chocolate, too, is magnesium-rich, but chocolate also contains caffeine, which worsens PMS."
"Magnesium and calcium go hand
in hand...if magnesium is increased, calcium should be increased twice as
much."
~ from PMS, Premenstrual
Syndrome and You by Niels H. Lauersen, MD, and Eileen Stukane
I'm Popeye the Sailor Woman
gulping
spinach the week before
trading roses are red
and PMS blue
for
magnesium
and calcium
(times two)
that one didn't love me
he bought me roses
and chocolates
this one does
he brings me
spinach bouquets
now the thing that I like best is
coming
downstairs to shock
whomever's in the room,
by announcing:
"it's the
day before my period
and I'm in a
good mood!"
so if you want to keep me happy
have the
florist do up spinach
in her prettiest wrapping paper,
'cause roses are much
too pricey
and chocolate's Montezuma's
real revenge
that one didn't love me
he bought me roses
and chocolates
this one does
he brings me
spinach bouquets
now baby you know it's true
we are what we
eat
so let's turn out all the lights
and make like we're a couple
of
dark green leafy vegetables
delicious!
