This MOLTXIBIT
consists of five sections, in the following sequence:
Forgembering Half remembering, half
forgetting. Do the tampon industry, the Society for Menstrual Cycle
Research, and MUM (the “other” menstrual museum) engage in “forgembering” when
it comes to tampon-related toxic shock?
Talkin’ Toxic
The phrase “toxic shock” is used in contexts other than medical. Is it
being used appropriately or accurately? Does it matter?
Why Am I Sick? Supposedly the toxic
shock “mystery” has been solved, with the discovery that a lack of magnesium in
the vagina “causes” toxic shock syndrome. But is it that simple?
Tampon Alert In the 1980s, there was a
“superproblem” with superabsorbent tampons in the United States. But did
you know the United Kingdom experienced something similar, well into the 1990s?
Find out about Jenny Kilvert’s daughter, and other UK women.
Broken Tampon
(Geneva’s Story) What happens when toxic
shock strikes someone from an abusive home environment? Can a museum (and
broken tampon memorial fountain) be considered “part of the healing
process?”
